A variety of transportation modes should be taken place for the transportation of heavy cargos in the domestic and international engineering projects, which is usually restricted by the means of transportation such as hoisting capacity, path conditions, road and bridge loading capacity, tunnel width and height and some local regulations, making the process difficult and complicated.

How to complete the transportation of heavy cargos safely, economically, effectively and reasonably is the key to the successful implementation of the project .

The transportation of heavy cargos shall take into consideration the actual conditions, manufacturing location, transportation route, means of transport, loading and unloading port, on-site hoisting equipment and other related factors and it’s necessary to carry out the feasibility analysis.

The successful hoisting of heavy cargos is the key point of the implementation of engineering projects. Certain steps must be followed to ensure the successful completion of lifting and installation.

Lifting & Installation operation process

1.Equipment on-site arrangement: organize the heavy equipment to hoist and install after all preparations have been completed.

2.Preparation work before hoisting: careful inspection and verification required.
For example.Check whether the equipment has installation marks and bearing line marks are correct; whether the lifting lugs of the equipment meet the lifting requirements

3.Lashing of hoisting rigging: it mainly includes hanging lug of pulley, tension test and azimuth adjustment of electric winch, the settings of towing and towing system.

4.Lifting trial: before the test, check and confirm the followings:

The hoisting general command carries out the hoisting operation disclosure; arrange the main points and main contents of assigning supervisory posts for supervision;several times trial for the lifting and lowering tests make all parts working safe and  coordinated and review the changes of each parts.

5.Hoisting on-site: the major-general commander officially orders all deputy commanders to check the standby status of each posts and check whether the command signal system is normal; and inform the command set staff with signals.

During lifting, make the equipment stop when leaving the temporary support above 500-800mm and make further inspection to make sure if everything is going well;

Next to remove equipment support and continue to lift.

Operation Notes for crane lifting

1.Lifting or descending

(1) Overload or over-rated torque are strictly prohibited in accordance with the load list.
Prohibit disconnecting with ACS system during the whole crane operation process.
Prohibit dragging the load cargos from the front or the side of the arm.
Prohibit lifting cargo from the front of the cab.

(2) Do not push and pull the joystick hard during the operation.
Before lifting, make sure the clutch lever in the disconnection position.

(3) Free fall operation can only be used when dropping the hook or when the load is less than 30% of the allowable load. Emergency braking in free fall is prohibited.

(4) The hoisting drum wheel should be locked when lifting load for a relatively long-time stay. But do not lock the drum wheel while descending the cargo.

(5) Pay attention to the warning when lifting operation.

(6) No one enters the lifting operation area except the signalers.

(7) During lifting, keep the safety distance between the top of the boom and the center of the line between ①6.6kv/3m ②66k/ 5m③275kv/10m, in case of any electric shock accidents.

(8) When two cranes lift a cargo together, a unified commander is required. Besides, the performance and speed of the two cranes should keep the same. Each shared load value should be less than 80% of the rated total load of one crane;The weight of the heavy load shall not exceed 75% of the total of the two machines.


(1) Avoid any emergency brake or rotary in case of the load swing danger.

(2) During the turning, the driver should pay attention to whether there are people on board or any obstacles behind.

(3) Lock the turning brake when finished.

3.Lifting telescopic boom lever

(1) No extra load with arm lever.

(2) When the telescopic boom is in use, there should be a certain distance between the tackle and the hook.When lifting the outer arm, the hook should keep as low as possible.

(3) When the main arm lever extended with total length, the arm angle shall not be less than the minimum angle specified in the operation manual, otherwise the whole machine will capsize.

The wheel crane carrying with the load

When the wheel crane carrying with the load, the road should be smooth and solid, and the load weight must conform to the manufacturer regulations.The height of heavy cargos shall not exceed 50cm from the ground, tied with the pull rope.Moving slowly.

Long - distance driving with load is strictly prohibited

5.Operation tips after Lifting

(1) Fully retract the lifting boom and place it on the bracket.

     Fixing the hook as required and brake the rotary table

(2) The legs shall be retracted in the prescribed sequence and secured

(3) Drive the crane back to the parking lot

1.Hydraulic jacking and skidding brief introduction

Hydraulic jacking and skidding emplacement technology consists of three parts: rail, sleeper and hydraulic jacking and skidding device system.The key of this construction technology is the application of hydraulic jacking and skidding device. It is mainly composed of super high pressure oil pump station, separated hydraulic jack and in-orbit heavy cargo moving unit.

By operating the hydraulic jack in high pressure oil pump station, the transformer is simultaneously lifted, so the rail can be laid on the above of the transformer. and in-orbit heavy cargo moving unit is moving  the transformer which is located on the.

2.Hydraulic jacking and skidding technical principle and construction technology

(1) Technical principle

Hydraulic jacking and skidding technology principle: two hydraulic tubes connect ultra-high pressure pump station with hydraulic jacks, and at the same time, operate high pressure oil pump station with Three position four - way valve, hydraulic oil will output pressure and hydraulic jack synchronously jacks the transformer to the underside of the rail and skid the in-orbit heavy cargo onto the basis of the transformer. Later, by jacking  the transformer out of the rail and with the pump station descend, the transformer comes back to the basis.
